My first job brought excitement, but my first paycheck brought a lesson in patience. After weeks of working in this new and somewhat scary environment I was completely unfamiliar with when payday finally came I was excited. When I checked my account though, it was still empty and even after weeks of waiting nothing appeared. Confused, I approached my manager, who realized there’d been an issue setting up my direct deposit.
The next few weeks were exhausting, full of paperwork and phone calls. Finally, after a month of working without seeing the reward, my paycheck arrived. The experience taught me about patience and the importance of keeping a cool head even in situations that are very upsetting and unexpected.
